Some of my best family memories are the times spent in the kitchen watching my mother cook. She was not only a great cook but she was an artist and her food reflected her sense of design and style. Making the beautiful Japanese foods she taught me to make is a way to honor her memory and at the same time create new memories for my children, grandchildren, and friends. Cooking is a way to reach back in time and touch the ones we love.
